TINCTURES

A tincture is an alcohol-based herbal preparation.
In fact they are the most common type of internal herbal remedy. They are made by soaking the flowers, leaves or roots of the herbs in alcohol to extract and preserve their properties.
Because they are highly concentrated, you need only take a small amount a time. They keep well and are easy to store.
The alcohol used in these tinctures is aguardente, the national spirit of Portugal from the region where the blends had been prepared.
